AMC's "The Walking Dead" Season Two

With three of the six episodes having been shown most fans can't wait for AMC's second season of "The Walking Dead" to get started. Well according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, it may be a long wait. AMC is planning to launch the 13-episode second season next October. The reason is simple - Fearfest. AMC's annual horror movie marathon was the perfect promotional platform to ramp up interest for The Walking Dead, which also took advantage of the higher audience levels during the fall. They plan on using the same strategy next fall with season two. Enjoy the next three remaining episodes in season one because it's going to be a long wait for more zombie goodness from AMC!

NBC's "The Event" to Relaunch in January

NBC's sci-fi drama, "The Event", was recently given a full season order for 2011. The show will complete its first 13 episodes by the end of the year and

"Create Your Own Killer" Contest From Beverly Lane's Joshua Hull

The mastermind behind "Beverly Lane" writer/director Joshua Hull, in association with DREAD CENTRAL, has announced a really cool contest. Hull is looking for the next character/killer for his next project titled "Idiot Gore" - a slasher comedy which Hull describes as "Tropic Thunder meets Halloween". According to dreadcentral.com the contest will work as follows. Between November 12th and December 31st, contestants should submit artwork and a brief "killer bio", along with name address, telephone number and age to arsonistpix@gmail.com

THE RESIDENT - Coming To A Theater Near You!

Image Entertainment has acquired all U.S. rights to Hammer's film The Resident. Slated to hit theaters sometime next spring, THE RESIDENT stars two-time Academy Award® winner Hilary Swank, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hammer icon Sir Christopher Lee. The film is a psychological thriller in the style of Hammer's classic "mini-Hitchcocks" of the 1960s. Full press release and scene art are below.

The Fall Of The House Of Usher

Well it should be obvious now that we missed our projected October release of THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER on compact disc. The distributor had this project tied up for about seven weeks. This should have only taken one week which would have let us release it around the second week in October. No reason to cry over spilled milk. It was out of our control.

The good news is THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER was very quietly released today. That's right - it's now available for purchase.

Peter Jackson To Direct "The Hobbit" - Deal Finalized

The New York Times is reporting that Peter Jackson's deal has been finalized to direct Warner Brothers, New Line Cinema and MGM's upcoming two-part "Lord of the Rings" prequel - "The Hobbit".

An ongoing union dispute in New Zealand seems to be the only thing standing in the way of the its planned February start date.

Paul Solet's "Grace" Wins At 2nd Annual Reaper Awards

Grace, the acclaimed horror film from writer/director Paul Solet won the “Best Indie or Foreign Disc” Award October 12 at the 2nd Annual Grim Reaper Awards. Solet accepted the award during the ceremony, held at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Grace, the 2009 Sundance Film Festival sensation about a new mother (Jordan Ladd, Cabin Fever, Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof) coping with her baby’s increasing hunger for human blood, beat out such titles in the category as Albino Farm (MTI), Mother (Magnolia), The Shadow Within (MTI), and Taxidermia (eOne). Grace is an Indigomotion release of an ArieScope Pictures Production in association with Dark Eye Entertainment, produced by Ingo Vollkammer, Cory Neal, Adam Green and Kevin DeWalt.
