REVIEW: "TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE THIRD SEASON" On DVD

Early last year, we were delighted to have the opportunity to review "Tales From The Darkside - Season One" on DVD. Imagine our excitement when the BBT (big brown truck) pulled up to the mansion and delivered a copy of "TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE THIRD SEASON" On DVD. We couldn't wait to settle in for a long weekend of Darkside goodness.

For those of you too young to remember, Tales From The Darkside was a horror/fantasy television series from the 1980s. In the same vein as "The Twilight Zone" and "Creepshow", each 30 minute episode was adapted from the works of famous genre authors of the period such as Harlan Ellison, Stephen King, and Clive Barker.

It's great to see these classic shows on DVD. Darkside was one of my favorites. Thanks to CBS and Paramount, as of this Tuesday, we will have three out of four complete seasons available on DVD. As with most of these older tv to dvd transfers, the quality is a bit grainy at times but don't let that scare you away. "Tales From The Darkside" was ground-breaking television and all 22 episodes from season three are included on this release. That's almost 8 hours of chilling Darkside goodness!
